Will your video upload everywhere?

Drop in a video and see, platform by platform, whether it passes: length, file size, shape, frame rate and codec. It runs in your browser, so your video is never uploaded.

Your video stays on your device: only its header is read, in your browser. Limits are for posting through each platform's official API, checked October 2026.

How it works

  1. 1

Your browser reads the video's header: length, size, resolution, frame rate, codec, and where the header sits in the file.

  2. 2

Each platform's published limits for apps that post through its official API are checked one by one.

  3. 3

Anything that fails comes with the fix, like the length to trim to or the export setting to change.

Questions

Something else? Ask us.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The check runs in your browser and reads only the file's header. Nothing leaves your device.

Why does Instagram say the header is at the end?

Instagram asks for MP4 and MOV files whose header (the 'moov' box) comes before the video data. Some exports put it at the end. Turn on 'Optimize for web' or 'fast start' when you export, or run ffmpeg with -movflags +faststart.

Are these the same limits as the apps?

They're the limits for posting through each platform's official API, which is how scheduling apps post. The apps themselves sometimes allow a little more or less, and TikTok gives some accounts longer limits than others.

Which formats can it read?

MP4 and MOV fully, including the codec and frame rate. For WebM and other files it reads length and size from your browser and skips the rest.
