You want one place to schedule posts to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and the rest, and two names keep coming up: Postiz, the open-source scheduler, and Freqel. Both let you write a post once and send it to several networks. Both work with AI agents. So which one should you pick?
Full disclosure: we make Freqel, so read this with that in mind. We've tried to be fair, and there's a section on where Postiz is the better choice. Prices and features below were checked on each company's own website in October 2026; check their pricing pages before you decide, because these things change.
The short answer
- Pick Postiz if you need LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, Discord or one of its many other networks, if you want a team with several logins, or if you want to self-host the open-source version on your own server.
- Pick Freqel if you post to the big seven (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Threads, Facebook and Bluesky), want something simple at $19 a month that also DMs people who comment a keyword, and like the idea of scheduling by chatting with ChatGPT or Claude.
Both start with a 7-day free trial. After it, Postiz's hosted plans cost from $29 a month, and Freqel Pro is $19.

Pricing in practice
List prices only tell you so much. Here's what three typical setups would pay, using the monthly prices on each site.
A solo creator with 4 accounts. On Freqel that's Pro at $19 a month, or $15 a month billed yearly. On Postiz it's the Standard plan at $29 a month, or $23 a month billed yearly.
A small brand with 6 accounts and 12,000 followers. Freqel Pro is $19 a month, or $180 a year. Postiz Standard covers only 5 channels, so this brand would need Team at $39 a month.
An agency with 8 clients, 3 accounts each, and three people posting. That's 24 accounts. Freqel Business is $49 a month with unlimited accounts and a separate workspace per client, but it's one login with no team seats. Postiz Pro is also $49 a month, covers 30 channels and lets all three people log in. For a team, Postiz is the better fit here.
Networks
Postiz supports far more networks than Freqel. If your audience is on LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit or a Discord server, that settles it, because Freqel doesn't post to those.
Freqel focuses on seven: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Threads, Facebook and Bluesky. For each one you get a preview of how the post will look, a live character count, and checks on your photos and videos before anything is scheduled. If those seven are where you post, the smaller list keeps the composer simpler. You can compare every channel Freqel supports.
AI agents and automation
Both tools take AI seriously, in different ways.
Postiz includes an AI copilot for writing, a monthly allowance of AI images and videos on most plans, a hosted MCP server, a CLI, a public API and webhooks.
Freqel doesn't generate images or video. It gives you "Rewrite with AI" in the composer (shorten, fix, punchier, a better first line, hashtags), and an MCP server on every plan. You connect it to ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or another AI app, and then ask in plain words: "Schedule these three posts for next week at 9:00." The Freqel MCP server page shows how, and our guide to what a social media MCP server is explains the idea.
Where Postiz is the better choice
Being honest about this is the point of a comparison. Postiz is the better pick if:
- You need LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, Discord, Telegram, Mastodon, Google Business Profile or another network Freqel doesn't cover.
- Several people need their own logins, with access to the same posts.
- You want to self-host, keep your data on your own server, or change the code. Postiz is open source, and Freqel isn't.
- You want AI images and videos generated inside your scheduler.
Self-hosting has its own costs, though: a server, updates, and your own developer apps on each social network, which can take weeks to get approved.
Where Freqel is the better choice
Freqel is the better pick if:
- You want everyone who comments a keyword to get a DM with your link, and one inbox for every comment.
- You want one clear composer, a calendar with posting times and "Add to queue", and Insights for your accounts, without setting anything up yourself.
- You run several brands or clients alone. Each gets its own workspace, and a private review link lets a client approve posts without an account. More on that in our guide to managing social media for multiple clients.
- You'd rather schedule by chatting with ChatGPT or Claude than learn another dashboard.
How to decide in ten minutes
- List your networks. If any of them is LinkedIn, Pinterest or another network outside Freqel's seven, choose Postiz.
- Count the people. More than one person posting with their own login points to Postiz's Team plan.
- Price your setup. Up to 10 accounts is $19 a month on Freqel Pro; on Postiz it's $29 for 5 channels or $39 for 10.
- Try both with the same post. Write one real post, schedule it to two accounts, and see which composer you'd want to open every week.
Wrap-up
Freqel vs Postiz comes down to breadth versus simplicity. Postiz covers more networks, supports teams and can be self-hosted. Freqel covers the seven networks most creators and small brands use, and costs $19 a month after a 7-day free trial. If you're unsure, try both with the same post, then see the plans.
